Subaru Crosstrek vs Honda HR-V

Are you in the market for a brand new SUV, but don't know which one to buy? Well, let us here at Subaru of Las Vegas help you out! We are going to compare two of the best SUVs on the market today in the Subaru Crosstrek and the Honda HR-V. The Crosstrek has a spectacular engine and a ton of features, while the Honda CR-V also delivers on power and has some exciting features and options in its own right. Both of these SUV certainly have their merits, but for the answer on which one is better, continue reading downbelow.

2020 Subaru Crosstrek Power & Handling

One of the things that the Subaru Crosstrek is not short on is power. All trims of the Crosstrek come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that pumps out 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. The engine pairs with a six-speed manual transmission on the Base and Premium trim with the option of a continuously variable automatic transmission if you choose. The CVT comes standard on the top-level Premium trim. No matter what version of the Crosstrek you choose, you will be greeted with the wonderful all-wheel-drive system, which is one of the best things about the Crosstrek.

2020 Honda HR-V Power & Handling

Like the Subaru Crosstrek, the Honda CR-V comes with only one engine. Unfortunately, it's nowhere near as powerful or as versatile as the Crosstrek engine. It's powered by a lackluster 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that has 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque, which pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission. The good news is you do have the option of all-wheel-drive no matter what engine you choose, and it also comes standard on the top-level Touring, which is undoubtedly a plus. We would have also liked a manual transmission option.

2020 Subaru Crosstrek Features & Design

Three trim levels are available for the Subaru Crosstrek, and each comes with an impressive amount of luxury and tech features. Starting things off is the base, which comes with 17-inch wheels, roof rails, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Premium adds to this with some more luxury features such as heated front seats, an extra USB port for front passengers, foglights, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. There are also a ton of driver safety aids available of both trims. The top trim level of the Crosstrek is the Limited, which gets you several more impressive features such as leather seats, keyless entry and ignition, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment screen. You also get even more safety features as well as some exciting options such as a sunroof, a premium audio system, and navigation.

2020 Honda HR-V Features & Design

There are five trim levels available for the HR-V, and sadly there are fewer features than the Crosstrek. Leading things off is the LX, which comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, a 5-inch LCD radio display, and Bluetooth streaming audio. The problem is the LX doesn't come with a lot of drivers safety aids, which are known as Honda Sensing. These are only available on the EX and above. The next trim level is the Sport, which adds to the LX with 18-inch wheels, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and paddle shifters. Up next is the EX, which comes with Honda Sensing, heated front seats, an upgraded sound system, and a power moonroof. The top two trim levels are the EX-L and the Touring, which round out the HR-Vs features lineup with leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, standard all-wheel drive, satellite navigation, an eight-way power driver's seat, and LED headlights.

Conclusion:

For us, this one is a slam dunk victory for the Subaru Crosstrek. The Crosstrek comes with a more powerful engine, and the three trim levels of the Crosstrek have more features than the HR-V's five.
