Subaru's Adopt A Classroom

Students in many schools across the country often lack the supplies and resources needed to succeed in the classroom. Subaru of Las Vegas wants to help. We are joining Subaru retailers nationwide in partnering with AdoptAClassroom.org to provide teachers with the funding and resources necessary to support their students as they learn and grow in the classroom. Subaru of Las Vegas is proud to do our part to help schools and students in our community by adopting classrooms in our hometown through Subaru Loves Learning. This year Subaru of Las Vegas is partnering with Judith Steele Elementary School to help support five hundred classrooms with a monetary donation of $10,000.

Subaru of Las Vegas Read to Me Book Drive

Under the Subaru Loves Learning pillar, Subaru of Las Vegas will host a book drive throughout the month of August. With the help of the community, Subaru of Las Vegas will collect gently used or new reading books to donate to local Title I schools. Subaru of Las Vegas believes that reading is the passport to countless adventures, and we want to encourage our students to reach for the highest stars when it comes to their education. Every week, Subaru of Las Vegas will visit a local Title 1 school to have story time with our very own Burton Hughes. As part of reading time, students will be able to pick out a book of their choice from the community donations for them to keep forever. If you have any children's books that you are willing to donate, please drop your book in our donation bin. The donation bin will be located in the showroom. Together we can make a difference in a child's life by donating one book at a time.

Hometown Hero

Hometown Hero

Congratulations to the Subaru of Las Vegas' Hometown Hero of the Month for July, Officer Andrea Mitre with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department! "3 years ago, my husband shot me 3 times (face, neck, and stomach) & my daughter ( 15) was shot in the face & chest. This officer was at my house the night before when my partner was brandishing a gun threatening to take my life. She went and tried to get me to leave (before SafeNest helped people). She showed a genuine interest in my life but I had nowhere to go. I was shot the next morning. I woke up from nearly dying to see this angel at my bedside. She had come and stayed at the hospital (on her own time) to see I was alive as well as my daughter! She saw me again after that at a disturbance call. She held me so tight and with tears streaming. This woman tries to make a difference in this city. She was definitely my Angel and if I could afford anything, I would bless her with it to continue to inspire more women to leave. She is giving hope to a spirit that is dying inside when she gets involved. Please do anything you can for , " My Hero"!! Hometown Hero nominations can be submitted at www.subaruoflasvegas.com. Click on Nominate Your Hometown Hero on the homepage. Nominations accepted from August 1st - August 31st

Subaru of Las Vegas No Pet Left Behind Act with St. Martin's Animal Foundation

Subaru of Las Vegas No Pet Left Behind Act with St. Martin's Animal Foundation

Our charity partner St.Martin’s Animal Foundation is committed to the animals they have adopted in the past. Sometimes adopters find themselves in times of hardship like Dave. Dave is a kind man who adopted a little girl named Gucci over 5 years ago through our charity. Gucci was one of many chihuahuas set to be euthanized at a high kill shelter, due to lack of space. Saint Martin’s Animal Foundation rescued 7 Chihuahuas and Gucci was one of them. Unfortunately, Dave started having health issues a few years ago, which made his life difficult. He called the charity in despair because his beloved dog Gucci was not eating and having a hard time breathing. St. Martin's Animal Foundation offered to financially help him with an emergency vet visit. After tests and X-rays, they found out that Gucci has a heart murmur and fluid in her lungs. Gucci is now on medication and she will be going back to the veterinarian for another round of treatments. Gucci and Dave are a pair, he loves his little dog dearly. St. Martin's Animal Foundation is thrilled that they could help Dave and Gucci, thanks to Subaru Of Las Vegas being a charity partner. ST. MARTINS ANIMAL FOUNDATION LOVES SOLV
