Oil change — 2.5L Boxer
Full synthetic- RepairPal national avg
- $142–$170
- Las Vegas notes
- OEM filter + Subaru-spec oil weight + multi-point inspection
A full-synthetic oil change runs $142 to $170, and you'll have that number before we touch the car. Out here, heat ages your CVT and brake fluid faster, so we check both every visit.

Vegas heat changes what your Subaru actually needs from a service visit. Here's what to expect, what we check, and roughly what it runs.
Subaru's maintenance schedule is written for the national average, and our valley runs hotter and drier than that average. A few intervals worth knowing — what the manual says, and what we actually see in the bays out here.
A few intervals worth knowing, what the manual says, and what the valley actually does to your Subaru.
SUBARU IN THE DESERT · SUBARU OF LAS VEGAS
The valley cuts that interval in half. Between construction dust and dry lake-bed wind, we've cut open filters at 7,000 miles that look two years old. If your AC airflow has dropped, it's time.
Not the refrigerant, the seals. They dry out faster when the AC runs at maximum capacity four months straight. Ice-cold last summer and merely cool this summer? Probably the seals.
11 years or 137,500 miles. Subaru Super Coolant's first replacement runs 11 years or 137,500 miles, then 6 years or 75,000 after. If yours isn't due, you don't need a flush — we'll tell you either way.
Checked with a moisture meter. Subaru's manual calls for brake fluid every 30,000 miles. Vegas heat-cool cycles pull moisture in faster than that spec assumes — we test before we touch it, and if your fluid is still dry, we say so.
Severe-duty if you tow or commute in summer. Subaru's 30,000-mile CVT inspection covers most owners through warranty. If you tow up to Charleston, drive into the Mojave, or commute the I-15 through summer, that counts as severe duty — see how long a Subaru CVT lasts in Vegas heat.
The right filter for your engine. 4.4 quarts of 0W-20 on the 2.5L NA, 4.8 on the 2.4T turbo. The wrong filter has the wrong internal pressure valve — and on a turbo, that's how the turbo gets starved of oil down the road.
If you just need an oil change and a rotation, skip the appointment and pull into Express Service. It's a dedicated lane with its own team that does nothing else. You're usually in and out in 60 to 75 minutes.
Subaru's Express Service program covers four advertised categories at authorized retailers: oil change, multi-point inspection, tire rotation, and minor maintenance. In practice, our Express lane also accommodates the following routine items as time allows:
A typical oil-change-and-rotation visit is usually under an hour, though wait time depends on shop volume. If your schedule has any flex, weekday mornings tend to be quieter than mid-afternoons. Walk in any time during service hours, or use 24/7 online scheduling to lock in a time.
Brake replacement, EyeSight recalibration, CVT or transmission service, recall repairs, suspension or alignment, Solterra high-voltage work. Those need an appointment. Book at subaruoflasvegas.com/service/schedule-service or Contact us.
Hours: Monday–Friday 7 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 7 AM to 5 PM. Walk in any time during service hours.
The Boxer engine, Symmetrical AWD, and EyeSight cameras behave differently than a typical crossover, so they're worth handing to someone who works on Subarus every day. Our technicians are factory-trained, with a separate Express Service team and direct access to Subaru factory support when a stubborn code shows up.
The Subaru Master Technician credential requires the full STEP curriculum, 5+ years as a Subaru tech, eight ASE certifications (A1–A8), and six Subaru-specific certs covering engine, transmission, brakes, chassis/suspension, electrical, and emissions.
Subaru's New Vehicle Limited Warranty runs 3 years / 36,000 miles bumper-to-bumper and 5 years / 60,000 miles powertrain. You can service the car anywhere — the warranty travels with it, not the dealer. Keeping records in one shop just makes things faster if a powertrain claim ever comes up.
The part that fits your Subaru depends on your VIN, not just the model. We look yours up before we touch anything — especially CVT fluid, where the wrong one usually doesn't show until 30,000 miles later, when the chain starts slipping.
Subaru runs four CVT fluids, and they aren't interchangeable:
If your Outback gets CVTF-II in a transmission spec'd for CVTF-III, you won't notice right away — you'll notice 30,000 miles later when the chain starts slipping. We look up your VIN before we touch anything.
The AWD center differential expects all four tires turning at the same rate. Subaru's tolerance is a quarter-inch of circumference difference (about 2/32-inch tread depth) across the four. If you mount one new tire on three half-worn ones, the differential runs warm and eventually fails. Before any single-tire replacement we measure all four, and if shaving the new tire to match will save you a full set, we'll tell you.

Three Subaru-specific risks make dealer service safer: CVT fluid (Subaru runs four non-interchangeable fluids; the wrong one can surface as a transmission replacement 30,000 miles later), EyeSight recalibration after any windshield work (without the factory targets, EyeSight can stay disabled), and complete service records for any future powertrain claim.
